Can You Dig It?

Can-You-Dig-It

Do you love music? We do. At ESC we have musicians and music afficianados among our staff. When we install a Sonos, Crestron, Control4, Sonance, or Triad multi-room music system, our goal is to provide a satisfying listening experience for you. If you are spending money (sometimes a lot of it) to put music all around your home, it's safe to assume you like music as much as we do.

Many people mistakenly believe that better speakers are only for playing your music loud. That's not the case. In fact, good speakers sound noticeably better at low volumes than ordinary speakers. Everything sounds pretty good at high volumes.  Of course, good speakers sound better at high volumes too, but studies have shown that the human ear is more sensitive to sound quality differences at lower volumes. Lesser speakers sound dull at low volume, with one frequency range dominating the sound. That's because they have uneven frequency response, which results in some instruments being barely heard while others stick out like a sore thumb.

So the important consideration is, are you paying attention? If background music is about as significant as wallpaper to you, speaker quality is not a high priority. If you really enjoy music then speaker quality is the single most important factor in a music system. It's not subtle.

At ESC our expert technicians/music lovers dial in the sound quality with tools provided by the software in our amps to get the best sound possible from the speakers. The better your speakers, the more you will appreciate the difference, enhancing your enjoyment of music for years to come.
