Wire Now, Save Later
When building a new home or remodeling, there are often some amenities that must be postponed till later. You know you will eventually want them, but the build is over budget, time is getting short, and you must focus on the essentials for now. One of those essentials is prewiring for future technologies.
Wireless is all the rage now, but many technology items require wire for their best implementation. For example, would you rather have speaker boxes sitting on a shelf with a power cable dangling down to the nearest electrical outlet, or speakers flush mounted into the ceiling where they can be heard but not seen. How about that window up high in the stairwell? You can install a battery operated shade and periodically drag a ladder up the stairs and climb up to replace the battery. Or you can install a motorized shade powered through the wire you had the foresight to install earlier during construction.
Here is a list of technology items that are best prepared for by wiring prior to insulation and drywall.
TVs, Speakers, Home Theater Systems, Computer Networks, Motorized Shades, Security & Surveillance.
Let your low voltage contractor (hopefully us) make recommendations for a prewire package that suits your needs and budget. It will save you time, headaches, and money later.
